Elegant dining around a large spreading oak tree - Chiusdino (Siena)
Built around two giant oak trees and overlooking sweeping views of the Tuscan hills, La Trattoria Sull'Albero evokes the feeling of dining in an immense treehouse. Inside, the light-filled interior reveals table settings beneath the oak boughs, trailing plants and wood detailing. Exposed beams, leather armchairs pulled up to a double-sided fireplace by the rough-hewn wooden bar create an elegantly rustic and laid-back atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a traditional Tuscan meal by the fire or a glass of wine on the terrace looking out over the vineyards.
The construction involved a series of micro piling to secure the complex structure whilst not damaging the old roots of this 300 year old oak tree.
